About the program
Military service in the IDF is a meaningful opportunity for growth and integration. The “Integration in Uniform” program supports young people with disabilities in joining the IDF, with tailored guidance that enables meaningful, accessible,
and respectful service.
What does the program include?
- Flexible, personalized support throughout the pre-enlistment process: guidance on volunteering, managing bureaucracy with the IDF and authorities, finding a suitable placement, and preparing for enlistment
- Ongoing support during service: mentoring, emotional support, and communication with commanders, mental health officers, and other military staff
- Group workshops and peer meetings for social and emotional preparation
Good to Know:
- Participants may also join the Avnei Derech Life-Prep Program in Haifa, which includes residential support tailored to those serving in the military or national service.
- High schools may integrate this program upon request as part of the scholar year in a group/class format,.
- Please note: Volunteering for IDF service is subordinated to the IDF official criteria and final approval.

Where does the Program take place?
Support is provided through our offices in Kiryat Shmona, Haifa and Central Israel, as well as in military bases, according to participants' needs.
Who is the program for?
Young adults aged 17–25 who have received an exemption from military service
Participants recognized by the Disability Services Division are eligible for full government funding and oversight via the Ministry of Welfare
Those exempted on mental health grounds or are not recognized by the Disability Services Division may join the program privately

Funding may be available through the Ministry of Social Affairs and Social Security.
