About the program

A unique two-year residential program designed for people with disabilities providing training for independent and autonomous adult life within the community. 

The program offers a rich environment for hands-on learning, exploration, trial and error, and personal growth. Through real-life experience, participants develop daily living skills, strengthen their self-identity, and become more conscious of their abilities. 

It includes accommodation in the preparatory programs housing facilities.

What does the program include?

Avnei Derech Life-Prep programs operate in three locations:

  • Kiryat Shmona - Identity exploration and self-discovery
    Designed for ages 18–25. Participants live in apartments within the program residential building (either shared apartments or studio units) and enjoy access to shared spaces for leisure and various group and individual activities.
  • Haifa - Support during military or national service
    For ages 18–23 who are volunteering in the IDF or National Civil Service. Located in the lively Kiryat Eliezer neighborhood in Haifa, participants live in shared apartments (up to 4 per unit) clustered around a central shopping area. The program includes a dedicated gathering space and shared areas for group and individual activities.
  • Ruppin - Support for students and student life
    For ages 18–30 who are currently studying or preparing for academic or vocational education.
    Located on the Ruppin College campus, participants live in studio apartments within the student dorms.
    In addition, they have access to shared spaces for social, personal, and educational activities.

Who is the program for?

Adults recognized by the Disability Services Division (Minhal Mugbaluyot) and Individuals with the motivation to engage in a meaningful personal journey toward independence and community living
The program is funded and supervised by the Ministry of Welfare. Admission requires approval by an external placement committee and an internal admittance process managed by the organization.
